Hello. :)
Hello, I'm Ruidis, an Elf Hunter Explorer from Rivendell. I've been playing LOTRO for about three years, but only as Ruidis since July 13, 2021.
I really enjoy the lore of Middle-Earth, and have read The Hobbit, LOTR, The Silmarillion, The Children of Hurin, Beren and Luthien, The Fall of Gondolin, Unfinished Tales, and all of the Histories of Middle-Earth except Peoples of Middle-Earth, but that one is on my to-read list if ever I can find a copy.
If you love the poems and songs of Tolkien, I can't recommend Clamavi de Profundis highly enough to you. Their first song that I ever heard was the Lament for Boromir, and it's one of my favorites of theirs, along with the Song of Beren and Luthien. Their passion for music and bringing Tolkien's songs to life is unparalleled.
My favorite characters are Maedhros, Maglor, Fingolfin, Finrod, Gil-Galad, Elrond, Elladan, and Elrohir. I've got a thing for men of the Noldor, I know.
I enjoy discussing the lore, possibilities, theories, and all of that kind of thing. I'm so happy with how Turbine and Standing Stone have treated the lore. Though they are having to make up their own stories, they tie it in very closely to the main story, and their respect for the canon shines through.
I love exploring Middle-Earth, though of course, since I just started, I can't go very many places yet, but I'm looking forward to the day that I finally can.
I love to socialize, but I'm also focused on leveling Ruidis as much as possible.
Once I hit skirmish level, I would love to run skirmishes with you guys, as long as it's level-appropriate.
My overarching goal with Ruidis, at least for now, is to get her all the way to level 20 without being defeated once. So far I've been able to do that, although a couple of times I've gotten close to defeat. I want to finally collect all of those titles.
A bit about me IRL. I'm a young Christian woman who lives on the west coast of America, I ride horses, my job is farmsitting, and I love music and singing, though I'm not instrumentally inclined at all.
I'm usually active in Middle-Earth on the weekdays, weekends I tend to be busy but you'll probably see me in the morning and evening. But I have Discord on my phone, so I can keep up with the kin even when I'm not in Middle-Earth.
I'm in love with this kin already. Everyone has been so sweet, welcoming, and encouraging, I couldn't be happier. Also the fact that I now get free transport to Belfalas doesn't hurt either. That's one of my favorite places in Middle-Earth, and the music is so beautiful it almost hurts.
I'm sorry this was so long, but I hope you enjoyed reading it, and if you didn't read all of it, that's alright. I can ramble sometimes.
Thank you for the informative intro, and it is always awesome when we have folks whom join us that are well-read Tolkien family lorecentric fans. Not a lot of us have also read Christopher's books but there are a few of us in the kin who have. We welcome you into the WoC and hope that your experiences with us will be fun and satisfying!
